AMICHAI Youth Centre

The Amichai Youth Centre is a popular meeting place for Jewish kids and teenagers aged 5 to 18 years and is located in the buildings of the Jewish Community in Frankfurt.

Weekly chugim (classes) include ballet, piano, table tennis, painting with oils and acrylics, and krav maga. Various peulot (activities) are also available on Sundays to help young people learn more about Judaism, Zionism and other day-to-day topics of interest. Classes are tailored to suit the age-group.

Every Sunday from 1.00 to 6.00 p.m., the Amichai Youth Centre becomes a meeting place for young people from Frankfurt that strengthens not only their sense of community but also their Jewish identity in their kvutzot (groups).

The madrichim (supervisors) are trained in youth work and run the centre as a team. Training is also available for young people, from the Central Board of Jewish Welfare in Germany (ZWST), to prepare them to join holiday camps (machanot) as supervisors.

To register your child for a summer machane trip to Italy, Spain, Germany or Israel for some full-on fun and activities with other young people from across Germany, please get in touch with the youth centre office. You can find out more about machanot at www.zwst.org.

During the course of the year, the youth centre organises mini-machanot and excursions. From Europa Park and Jewrovision to the JQ Jewish Quiz Duel, the various events attract young Jewish people from across Germany.
