2. Processing of personal data, type, purpose and use

The specific nature of the data processing depends on whether you are just visiting our website or whether, for example, you use the contact form provided there.

The following personal data is collected on our website:

a. When accessing our website

When you access our website https://www.jg-ffm.de/en, the browser you are using automatically sends information from your device to our website server. This information is stored temporarily in a so-called log file. The following information is collected without any action on your part and is stored until it is automatically deleted:

  • IP address of the requesting device,
  • Date and time of access,
  • Name and URL of the retrieved file,
  • Website from which you access our site (referrer URL),
  • Browser used and, if applicable, the operating system of your device as well as the name of your access provider.

We process the above data for the following purposes:

  • To guarantee a smooth connection to our website,
  • To ensure that our website is easy to use,
  • To analyse the system security and stability, and
  • For other administrative purposes.

The legal basis for this data processing is Art. 6 section 1f GDPR. Our legitimate interest results from the aforementioned purposes of data collection. We do not use the collected data to draw conclusions about you.

b. When using our contact form and in email contact

For questions of any kind, we offer you the opportunity to contact us via a form on our website. To allow us to answer your inquiry, you will need to enter a valid email address along with your name. Any other details you provide are optional.

You can also contact us via the email addresses we provide on our website. In this case we will store the personal data transmitted with the email.

The processing of data for the purpose of contact with us is based on your freely given consent as per Art. 6 section 1a GDPR. You can withdraw this consent at any time with future effect by sending us an email to this effect. This will not affect the legality of the data processing prior to your withdrawal. The legal basis for the processing of the data transferred in the course of sending an email is Art. 6 section 1f GDPR.

The data will be deleted as soon as it is no longer needed for the purpose for which it was collected. Personal data from the input mask of the contact form and from the email will be deleted when the respective conversation with the website user or their inquiry is completed, i.e. when it is clear from the circumstances that the issue in question has been conclusively clarified.

c. When subscribing to our email newsletter

If you would like to receive our email newsletter, you need to provide us with an email address as well as information that allows us to verify that you are the owner of this email address. We therefore process the following data in connection with subscriptions to the newsletter and sending it out:

  • First name, last name
  • Email address

The processing of this data is based on your freely given consent as per Art. 6 section 1a GDPR. You can withdraw this consent at any time by sending us an email to this effect or clicking the "Unsubscribe" link in the newsletter email. This will not affect the legality of the data processing prior to your withdrawal.

We store your data for as long as is necessary for you to receive the newsletter.

Furthermore, we use the
analytics service Google Analytics and cookies when you visit our website. For

3. Passing on data to third partiesCookies

We only pass on your personal data to third parties if:

  • You have given us your express consent as per Art. 6 section 1a GDPR,
  • Necessary as per Art. 6 section 1f GDPR for the assertion, exercise or defence of legal claims and there is no reason to assume that you have an overriding legitimate interest in not having your data passed on
  • There is a legal obligation to pass it on as per Art. 6 section 1c GDPR, and
  • Permitted by law and required as per Art. 6 section 1b GDPR for conducting contractual relationships with you.

9. Rights of the data subject

You have the right to:
  • Request the correction or completion of any inaccurate or incomplete personal data we hold about you, according to Art. 16 GDPR;
  • Request the deletion of the personal data we hold about you if one of the reasons specified in Art. 17 GDPR applies;
  • Request restriction of the processing of your personal data, according to Art. 18 GDPR;
  • Withdraw the consent you have given to the Jüdische Gemeinde Frankfurt am Main K.d.ö.R. at any time with future effect, according to Art. 7 section 3 GDPR. As a consequence, we would no longer be allowed to continue data processing based on this consent in the future, provided there were no other legal basis for the processing;
  • Object to the processing of your personal data, according to Art. 21 GDPR;
  • Complain to a supervisory authority, according to Art 77 GDPR.
