Inaugurated on September 14th in 1986, the Ignatz Bubis Community Centre on Savignystrasse 66 in Frankfurt's Westend has become the heart and backbone of our community. It is also a symbol of Jewish identity. "Whoever builds a house, wants to stay"—with these words, the architect and Chairman of the Executive Board from 1999 to 2024, Prof. Dr. Salomon Korn, opened the community center, creating a stable foundation for the future. The building was named after the long-serving board chairman Ignatz Bubis (1927-1999) of blessed memory.
About Us
From the 12th Century to the Present: How History and the Future Shape Us
It was as early as the 12th century when the first Jewish community in Frankfurt established itself around the area of today’s cathedral. Ever since, we have experienced a history full of ups and downs—and despite the break of the Shoah, we are once again an integral part of the city’s society.
Experienced and rooted in our community: The board and community council lead our community on a voluntary basis. The council is elected every four years and consists of 17 community members. From within the council, five board members are chosen.
We’re here for you. The Jewish Community of Frankfurt offers numerous facilities and contacts for all aspects of Jewish life and your personal or family needs. From the community centre to nurseries and kindergartens, to school, youth centre, religious school, elderly centre, and much more. Find all our facilities listed here.
Would you like to actively shape our community? We welcome applications for current job openings.

A donation to our community can significantly impact the future and bring new ideas to life.
With the Jewish Community of Frankfurt, the mitzvah of Zedaka, as laid out in the Torah, finds a way that suits you. We ensure that your charity tangibly strengthens our shared Jewish future. You can decide which area of our community or project your financial contribution will support.
